OPERATIONS FORECASTING ANALYST / DEMAND PLANNER

Fitness EM, head-quartered in Uxbridge, MA, is a leader in the women’s health & fitness industry by designing, marketing and distributing specialty fitness equipment, accessories and wellness products.​

The Operations Forecasting Analyst /​ Demand Planner reports directly to the VP, Operations and is responsible for developing and executing demand and inventory plans that will enable the Company to meet sales and service objectives.​

The chosen candidate will strive to continuously improve forecasting /​ planning techniques, method and approach by evolving and maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems.​ This position will collaborate with other members of the supply chain, sales, marketing, finance and customer support teams to achieve the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Update and generate weekly and monthly statistical forecast and variance reports
  • Relate and measure the impact of forecast accuracy
  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast including historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions and eventually tier 1 account POS and inventory levels
  • Prepare, report and communicate forecast accuracy and inventory plan vs.​ target measurements to management
  • Establish and utilize best methods (statistical models and software tools) in creating forecasts and respective inventory targets
  • Make recommended adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends
  • Lead forecast and inventory planning meetings with Sales, reviewing recommended sales forecasts and inventory goals with an emphasis on brand transitions, new product introduction and promotions
  • Manage inventory targets, including safety stock levels, that are approved by management
  • Provide monthly inventory on-hand and out-of-stock reports
  • Identify and report slow moving /​ obsolete inventory and monitor inbound replenishment containers
  • Monitor item levels and recommend item rationalization initiatives in the future

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience in forecasting, supply chain, operations, inventory control and managing seasonal products within Consumer Packaged Goods Industry
  • Knowledge of demand management/​forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Above average PC skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and/​or Access
  • Excellent organization/​analytical skills as well as attention to detail
  • Strong ERP experience
  • Strong communication, team building and presentational skills
  • Ability to work under direct supervision and on own initiative
  • Knowledge of turn rates
  • Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contributions, etc
  • Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in inventory
  • Experience in managing end of life cycle and absolute inventory
  • Experience with Great Plains and Demand Solutions software a huge plus

ASSOCIATE PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a talented marketing professional who can execute in a team environment.​ The Associate Product Marketing Manager reports directly to the Product Marketing Manager and will be responsible for both product planning and product marketing for one of our multiple brands.​ This opportunity includes executing the product strategy, managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements and working closely with the Product Development Team to deliver ‘winning’ products and packaging.​ It also includes working with Sales, Finance and Operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met as well as confirming that all product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.​

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Help to define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for new products.​
  • Establish and manage product processes and timelines for key existing.​ This “process” includes strategy execution and management of new products/​programming, pricing, packaging and recommended placement.​
  • Deliver Marketing Briefs for new products including product positioning, prioritized features and benefits, competitive data, recommended MSRPs and all other relevant information.​
  • Collaborate with the Product Development Team to develop and commercialize new products and packaging.​
  • Become an expert with respect to the competition, new product/​category trends and retail distribution channels; identify new product opportunities and new distribution opportunities.​
  • Assess current product assortments – recommend additions and deletions to each line.​
  • Research MSRPs, pricing and distribution strategies for all products in each line.​
  • Track, analyze and distribute competitive products/​strategies data.​
  • Research new trends in marketplace working closely with experts, associations, retailers & consumers to tap into new concepts and ideas.​
  • Develop sales tools and merchandising aids to support new product launches in conjunction with Sales.​
  • Attend account presentations and industry shows as needed.​
  • Brief and train the sales force on new products.​

What is Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing or Communications
  • MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience working within the consumer packaged goods industry, preferably with experience in the sporting goods, fitness industry or experience marketing to women
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative personality and team player
  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Self driven with strong problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Able to travel 10-20%​ of the time
