Empower Portable Pilates Studio Featured on Health.com's Gear Guide: At-Home Pilates Systems

March 28, 2012

Portable Pilates Studio

This deceptively simple system (it’s just a bar with a resistance cord and foot strap at each end) is easy to put together, and you can follow the workouts on the DVD or just go free-style, twisting, curling, and lifting in all sorts of directions. The DVD is versatile, offering three workouts (plus a bonus arms sequence) that you can mix and match. Instructor Gin Miller gives excellent direction, and while the routines are pretty simple, they’re still challenging. Click here for more.

Portable Pilates Studio

The Portable Pilates Studio is one of those pieces of equipment that makes you say, "That's genius! Why didn't I think of that?" The equipment is simple, portable and effective, making it easy to take your workout with you wherever you go. Click here for more.

Weighted Walking Vest

I'm a big fan of weighted vests, but you don't usually see them flying off the shelves in the women's department at Sports Authority. I think this is primarily due to the fact that most weighted vests on the market are big, bulky and masculine-looking, and many women just don't understand what the benefit of wearing one could be. So, when I tested out the Empower Weighted Walking Vest, I was pretty pleased. Here's why: Click here for more.

Cardio Core & More Fitness Hoop

I've been wanting to try hooping for awhile, so I was thrilled to test out the Cardio Core & More Fitness Hoop. This three-pound hoop can be taken apart into eight separate sections and reconfigured several ways to alter the intensity of your exercise routine. Plus, the fact that it can be taken apart makes it easy to travel with and use wherever you happen to be. Click here for more.

Girls Gone Sporty

“For online purchases at a reasonable price, check out Empower's medicine balls available at Amazon.com. They're softer than traditional rubber medicine balls and they have unique finger grips that make them easy to hold. Plus, the vinyl shell has a slightly tacky exterior that helps prevent the ball from rolling around too much on hard surfaces. They're available for $19.99 to $29.99 and range in weight from four to 10 pounds.” Click here for full article.

MISS OMNI MEDIA

No longer just for kids, the hula hoop has become a must have for the fitness enthusiast (or the new year resolutionist). It’s large size and shape make it difficult to take your hooping routine with you wherever you go. Not so with the Empower Cardio Core and More Fitness Hoop. Ingeniously designed to be taken apart in sections, you don’t have to leave your hoop home… The hula hoop is certainly a challenge, but such fun! It really reminds me of being a kid again, which makes the fact that I’m exercising all the more enjoyable. Click here for more!

Empower Cardio Core & More hoop featured in the "Super Last-Minute Gift Guide for Chicks" on Yahoo Shine

Dec 13, 2011

Yahoo Shine

“There are few pieces of fitness equipment that I actually use, let alone like. The Cardio Core and More Fitness Hoop from Empower is one of my faves. It's a hula hoop- so it's fun and doesn't feel like fitness, and it's weighted- so it's a serious workout that really gets into your abs. Plus it's pink and orange and perfect for the girly chicks on your list. My mom even uses it daily as an addition to her morning walk and 10 minutes of toning Pilates- yeah, she's pretty fab.” Click here for more.

Check out the "Hula from Hell" review from the LA Times:

Los Angeles Times

Empower, which makes fitness products geared to women, adds real oomph to hooping with the weighted sections, which snap together and come apart easily. Alternate the pink and orange sections and the hoop spins normally; segregating the sections by quarters or halves, however, adds a pronounced imbalance to the spin, forcing you to work harder to keep it spinning. The three-pound weight alone works up a good sweat; a half-and-half set-up doubles it. Click here for more. Click here to read about it on hooping.org.
